Edit
While e621’s brutal though consistent “artistic merit” policy successfully weeds out fifteen-year-olds’ edgy wolfsonas with eggplant phalli drawn on notebook paper and photographed with a 2008 Kyocera flip phone, it keeps funny, entertaining and otherwise (sub)culturally important images from being added simply based on art style. Sterlbooru partially alleviates this fact by serving as a repository of Animal Crossing and Doko Demo Issyo shitposts and monochrome animations, as well as whatever the hell else I feel like adding.
What to upload
If it’s already on e621NSFW/e926SFW or GelbooruNSFW/SafebooruSFW, and isn’t related to something already on the site, think twice before uploading it.
As an example of already-booru’d works that arguably belong on this site, see post #1. While said post successfully passed e621’s artistic merit test as e926 post #3734831, it was drawn by randomacman, most of whose early works—while likeable and entertaining—unfortunately do not qualify for archival on e621 on the basis of a monochrome sketched art style.
As an example of works that arguably do not belong on this site, see e926 post #2541137. Not only does this post indubitably qualify as archive-worthy on mainstream boorus, but said artist almost exclusively produces qualifiable work.
Tagging uploads
Do note: this booru uses e621 tagging conventions! Notable differences between furry and anime booru conventions:
- Instead of 1boy, 4girls, etc. tags, the sex-nonspecific solo, duo and group tags are used.
- Tags such as male and female refer to sex, not gender (i.e. clear physical attributes, not stereotypes or presentation).
More to come.
